Two young people lost their lives in a tragic early morning accident on Highway 67 in Morgan County. The accident happened near the intersection of Highway 67 and New Center Road in Priceville, Alabama. Killed in the accident were Clara Fulton, 22, who died at the scene of the accident, and Dylan Allan, 19, who was pronounced dead at Decatur Morgan Hospital. The driver of the car, Jacob Lovell apparently crossed into oncoming traffic striking a truck. Lovell was seriously injured and airlifted to Huntsville Hospital, where he remains at this time. None of the occupants of the car were apparently wearing a seatbelt.

The truck driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was injured and taken to a local hospital. The truck drivers condition is unknown at this time, although his injuries do not appear to be life threatening. Details of the accident are under investigation.

Over the Christmas holiday, 19 occupants of motor vehicles were killed in accidents in Alabama. Only four of those killed were wearing seatbelts. Make a resolution this year to make sure you and your passengers are buckled in before you hit the roads. Seatbelts do save lives.
